A hard shell wool jacket in a 10,000 mm 3L bonded wool fabric. The fabric, originally developed by Descente with the goal of maximizing weight reduction, is a composite of rare 17.5 micron soft-textured, ultra-fine merino wool spun at 2/100 and recycled polyester. It retains the rich surface feel and drape of wool with the added functionality of excellent durability and water resistance. The chest has zipped storage pockets with mesh on the inside, which allow air intake for ventilation when opened. Chest pockets are conveniently accessed by both inside and outside zippers. This creates a ventilation system that actively circulates air inside the garment, supplementing the high moisture absorption characteristic of wool.
