As a key new step in Descente’s continuing drive to produce ever better high quality, high performance sportswear, in July last year we opened a new research and development facility at Ibaraki, in Osaka. Known as DISC (DESCENTE INNOVATION STUDIO COMPLEX), it incorporates a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment and testing facilities designed to support all of our manufacturing activities, including for ALLTERRAIN product. These include, among others, a Climate (Artificial Weather) Room; an artificial Rainfall Room; a Function/Quality Evaluation Laboratory, to inspect and investigate the functionality and physical properties of materials and products for improving sports performance; a Sports Science Laboratory for basic data collection and product function verification; and a Production Studio capable of carrying out an entire production cycle from initial paper pattern to final sewing.
